Periodic Table of Dessert

Periodic Table of DessertToday, I stumbled onto this periodic table by Andrew Plotkin which was created in 2003!  The page also contains pictures of the structures of some of the elements, along with thermal spectrum details!

Beautiful, informative, and tasty.

Periodic Table of Knitting

Periodic Table of KnittingAlthough not yet complete, Mary Joy Gumayagay’s project is well underway.  It was apparently inspired by the Typefaces and Controllers periodic tables.

Sadly, this brings us to the end of our journey into the realm of periodic tables. Given the increasing demand, I predict that 2009 will be a record year for their invention and construction!

Periodic Table of Controllers

Periodic Table of ControllersPixel Fantasy recently published one of the most creative periodic tables so far.

This isn’t just for gamers. (But if you aren’t a gamer you should be ashamed of yourself!)

I think of it as a concise history of interaction design since the birth of video games.

Periodic Table of Typefaces

Periodic Table of TypefacesLast month, Cam unleashed this periodic table.

While it’s not full of flashy colors and interactive stuff, it’s very clean, easy to follow, and is packed with information.

Heck, he’s even got an explanation and citations at the bottom!

Periodic Tables of Adobe Shortcuts

Periodic Tables of Adobe ShortcutsA mysterious character named Vent recently teased everyone with periodic tables of shortcuts for three Adobe products: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

I couldn’t find high resolution versions of them, and I’m not sure if Vent plans to make them available.

Maybe if you ask nicely (or maybe threaten him) he’ll give up the goods.

Periodic Table of Form

Periodic Table of FormGray Holland presented this periodic table last month.

It’s hidden amongst a lofty discussion on design.  A PDF version of the table is also available.

It’s definitely the sexiest periodic table to appear so far!

Periodic Table of Social Media Elements

Periodic Table of Social Media ElementsRick Liebling created this periodic table which gathers together Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Blogs, and other such stuff.

The image is very cryptic, but the discussion in his blog post provides a key.

Overall it’s a nice idea, but still messy since it’s not self-contained.

Periodic Table of Texting

Periodic Table of TextingOMG! 2009 brought a periodic table which exists only in t-shirt form.

It’s obvious that people have an unmet need for periodic tables. This shows that people don’t just look at periodic tables on websites. They also wear them!

Sadly, the model is not included when you order.

Periodic Table of the (Perl) Operators

Periodic Table of the (Pearl) OperatorsMark Lentczner made this one for all the Perl programmers out there.

Well, there’s at least one or two of you, right?

Oh, nevermind.

This periodic table is one of the most visually complex, and looks to be an effort of biblical proportions.

Periodic Table of Metaphors

Periodic Table of Metaphors
Christoph Niemann created this relatively simple periodic table.

He included user documentation in case you’re just staring at it blankly with a silly smile.

This is for all the peeps who can draw.

Beware of zombies.
